On Monday, February 16, at 12:00 p.m., in Auditorium 3
of EAAD, there will be an open lecture entitled “Reversible Connections for
Lightweight Systems,” given by Ornella Iuorio.
Ornella Iuorio is
Associate Professor in Architectural Engineering at the Polytechnic of Milan
(@polimi). Graduated in Architecture in Naples, holds a PhD in “Design,
Analysis and Experimentation of Structures” and a postdoc at MIT. She was Full
professor and Chair in “Architecture and Structures” at the University of
Leeds, UK. She now Leads the AS_Lab (Thin Architecture and Structures) at the
Politecnico di Milano, ad is Vice President for IASA. In Her Work she explores
the opportunities offered by computational tools, lightweight prefabrication,
and advanced manufacturing in creating innovative low carbon and resilient
construction systems.
