Established in 1996, the Autonomous Department of Architecture emerged as a strategic goal within a university aiming to encompass all disciplinary areas. Thus, in close relation with the pre-existing disciplinary areas, efforts were taken to develop the education, generation and diffusion of knowledge in architecture, urbanism and construction.
Twenty years later, in a continuous process of growth and consolidation, the School of Architecture, Art and Design of the University of Minho (EAAD) welcomes, in its academic offer, different technical-artistic languages, aiming at the evolution and strengthening of the students’ critical thinking. In addition to the Integrated Master in Architecture and the PhD in Architecture, EAAD also welcomes a Bachelor in Product Design , a Master in Product Design and Services. and a Bachelor in Visual Arts.
