Universidade de Coimbra
On September 19, 2026, the Colégio de Jesus at the University of Coimbra will host the meeting “Geometry#2: Reconfigurations and Permanences".
ight years after the first edition, geometry professors from Portugal's public architecture schools gather once again for a critical assessment of the discipline's role in contemporary architectural education.
The event is co-organized by EAAD / Lab2PT, represented by professor João Cabeleira, in partnership with Teresa Pais (DARQ/CeArq-TD) and Alexandra Castro (FAUP/CENP).In an era of rapid cultural and technological transformation, the meeting serves as a platform to discuss what has changed and what remains fundamental in teaching. The focus is divided into two central pillars: Geometry as a foundation for structuring spatial reasoning and architectural design thinking; Pedagogical Practices based on shared reflection on exercises, methodologies, and academic results achieved between 2018 and 2026.
