Call for Papers and Workshops - SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 26 FEBRUARY 2027
The 12th eCAADe Regional International Symposium (RIS 2027), organized by the School of Architecture, Art and Design at the University of Minho, will take place on 3–4 June 2027.
We are pleased to invite contributions to the 12th eCAADe Regional International Symposium (RIS 2027). How can computational design and fabrication engage with uncertainty rather than seek to eliminate it?
Designing Through Uncertainty explores how material variability, feedback, adaptation and distributed decision-making can become productive drivers of architectural design and fabrication. As artificial intelligence, computational design and automated fabrication increasingly transform architecture and construction, established assumptions about predictability, control and authorship are being challenged. The symposium invites us to reconsider these relationships and explore new approaches in which design intent, computational systems, material behaviour and fabrication processes continuously inform one another. eCAADe RIS 2027 welcomes original research, experimental investigations and critical reflections, bringing together researchers, educators, practitioners and students through scientific presentations, discussions and hands-on workshops.
