EAUM welcomed, on February 19 at 14h30, José Pessôa, delivering the lecture #89 entitled “A arquitetura portuguesa no traço de Lúcio Costa”.
José Pessôa has a B.A. in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1982), specialist in conservation and restoration of monuments from the Federal University of Bahia (1984), PhD in “Pianificazione Territoriale” from the University Institute of Architecture in Venice (1992 ) and post-doctorate on “urbanistic invariants in Portuguese historic centers” by the University of Coimbra (2007). He is a professor at the University of Coimbra (since 2015) and an associate professor at the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the Universidade Federal Fluminense. He is a consultant on the “UNESCO’s Global Report on Culture and Sustainable Urban Development regional survey for Portuguese speaking countries” project, coordinated by Walter Rossa and funded by UNESCO (since 2015). He is also an advisor to the Oscar Niemeyer Foundation.
