Francisco Ferreira (1968), graduated as an architect at the Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto - FAUP, in 1991. MSc in Architecture at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, in 2000. PhD from the Escola de Arquitectura da Universidade do Minho, in 2010.
He teaches the courses Project I, Project IV and Cities and Cinema.
He is currently a researcher at Lab2PT, at Universidade do Minho.
Fellow researcher at "Silent Rupture - Intersections between Architecture and Cinema. Portugal, 1960-1974", at FAUP, between 2012 and 2014, where he wrote and directed a short fiction film on architecture entitled "Panorama" (2013). "Panorama" was awarded as Best National Short Fiction Film, at the Arquitecturas Film Festival, Lisbon, in 2013.
Wrote and directed two other short-films in 2014 ("Anywhere") and in 2020 ("Are You Now or Have You Ever Been?").
He has been studying the relations and intersections between Architecture and Cinema, and has been lecturing as well as writing and publishing on the subject.
He is a co-editor at Jack - Journal on Architecture and Cinema.
