Description

The training in Robotic Manufacturing in Design, Architecture and Construction, proposed by the School of Architecture, Art and Design (EAAD), focuses on the training of professionals in the field of Design, Architecture and Construction, in an interdisciplinary approach that aims to respond to the growing need for more sustainable and optimized production and construction systems. The course meets training needs in design and manufacturing methodologies emerging from the integration of automation and robotics systems.

Learning Results

- Know the different robotic manufacturing systems and computer-machine interaction methods for the digitization of manufacturing processes in the areas of Design, Architecture and Construction.
- Use programming skills for the automation of mass customization processes of products and architectural elements;
- Adopt Design for Manufacturing, Assembly and Disassembly (DfMAD) methodologies, promoting principles of decarbonisation and circularity in the areas of Product Design, Architecture and Construction.
- To enable the development of design processes mediated by digital tools, stimulating the development of formal and material solutions that implement the automation of sustainable manufacturing processes in a collaborative business context.

Admission

Holders of a Bachelor or of a Master degree in Architecture, Product Design, Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Product Engineering, as well as professionals from sectors where the digital transition requires skills in robotic manufacturing methodologies and automation in manufacturing and construction.
