It provides solid training for technical staff working in the fields of architecture, urbanism and related areas. It consists of a single UC and can be part of a second cycle training programme (hours of work: 135 hours approx..). It is credited with 5 ECTS.

General objectives
The main aim of the course is to train professionals from the field of architecture, urbanism and related areas who work in the street space, both in terms of design and programming, management and maintenance. Within a framework of sustainable development committed to the goals of the Roadmap for Carbon Neutrality, the aim is for trainees to acquire fundamental skills for transforming the street, questioning the dominant models and processes and committing to original and emerging solutions.

Learning objectives

The course aims to equip students with the skills to:
- Identify fundamental constraints to street intervention;
- Know the main types of streets and their multiple derivations;
- Recognise solutions committed to the Sustainable Development Goals;
- Conceive scenarios that are fundamental to revising the hierarchies associated with dominant functions;
- Develop design and intervention practices committed to emerging themes of intervention and action in the streets, using formal, material and procedural solutions originating in participatory and/or collaborative processes;
- Adopt representation methodologies (analogue or digital, two-dimensional or three-dimensional) to anticipate future street design.

Admission requirements
Admission is open to holders of a bachelor's or a master's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning and related areas, as well as professionals in sectors in which working in the street and public space, in its physical organisation, but also socially and environmentally, justifies the acquisition of skills in intervention and representation methodologies.
